Ginkgo Biloba, also known as Maidenhair Tree, is one of the most interesting trees in the world. It can live for 1,000 years which make them the oldest trees on Earth. An interesting fact about this tree is that pollination is followed by fertilization only in the fallen ovule. In its motherland, eastern China, it has great religious significance. Typically, the active ingredient, flavonoid, is extracted from the leaves. The fully-grown, bright green leaves are collected, which are quickly dried, then grounded and its standardized dry extract is applied.
